In just a few steps you can start receive and send emails using yahoo and Thunderbird, because this program has an automatic detection feature for email settings so all you have to do is enter your name, email address and password and the rest will be automatically configured.
How to Configure Thunderbird for free Yahoo! Mail
Open the Thunderbird application, and then click Create a new account - Email
Select "Skip this and use my existing email"
Enter Your name, email address and password, then click "Continue"
Choose the "POP3" or "IMAP" then click Done
Done, now you can use yahoo mail account in Thunderbird
